Prevention of Violence Against Women
St Mark’s supports the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne’s initiative for the Prevention of Violence Against Women (PVAW).
Violence against anyone in a family, and even your enemies, is certainly against the teaching of Jesus (Matthew 26:47-56). Sadly, women and children are those most likely to be harmed in a domestic situation. As a church community, we do not presume that we are immune to this issue. However, with God’s help, we seek to challenge behaviours that underpin violence. We want to support and protect those who live in fear of domestic violence, with a need for justice, care and new pathways in family wellbeing.
Our staff and volunteers are committed to the prevention of violence in families. Please contact us if you are seeking help at this time.
